STORM SERIES
There are seven different versions within the Storm series of aircraft. In terms of the number of aircraft sold, the first of these is undoubtedly the Storm 300 Special, of which there are some 250 flying worldwide. All over the planet, the Storm 300 Special is well known for its great qualities: maneuverable, safe, sturdy, fast and comfortable are just some of the adjectives used to describe this wonderful combination of research and technology. The Storm 300 special is a two-seat aircraft with a baggage rack and internal fuel tank. It is available with either a fixed two-wheel or three-wheel undercarriage.
In 1999, the Storm 280G was flight certified in Germany widely considered having the most stringent and complex certification requirements in Europe. Built using aviation aluminium, 0.1mm thinner than the rest of the Storm series, capable of carrying an emergency aircraft parachute and with a lighter equipment fit than the other aircraft in the range. The Storm 280G nevertheless has the same robust and stylish characteristics as the other aircraft in the Storm range. This model is one of the most popular in the market and meets FIA and Ultralight standards. This aircraft has a maximum takeoff weight of 450kg and is available with either a two-wheel or three-wheel undercarriage.
The American version of the series is the Storm 400 Special, with fuel tanks in the wings; the greater fuel capacity gives considerably an increased range. The cabin is larger, permitting installation of two passenger seats. The main wing spar is reinforced and the wing surface increased and is available with either a two-wheel or tricycle undercarriage. Such an aircraft can be registered as 'Experimental' (US certification obtained in 1998).
The Storm Century is available for those who prefer the Ultralight version with wing tanks and larger internal baggage compartment. In production since 2000, there are already 30 of these aircraft flying in Europe, Brazil and Oceania.
The largest in the range, produced since 2001 is the Storm 500 Special. It is a four-seater aircraft, designed and built around a new cabin layout. It is longer than the other models in the Storm series, with a baggage compartment in the centre of the fuselage. The Storm 500 Special has a fixed tricycle undercarriage.
The last one of the Storm series is the Storm RG and after 6 months since the date of production, 10 Storm RG will be flying the Italian skies. The first quality you can appreciate about this plane is the new retractable gear system. This model appears substantially modified in the line; the fin profile is reduced in comparison with the other Storms, which permits greater aerodynamic effect on the rudder at low speed. The dorsal fin on the central section of the fuselage brings into harmony the line, of the already aesthetically refined and efficient Storm RG. This model is only available in the tricycle undercarriage version.
The Storm series is available in assembled version, and three kit versions, Standard kit, Quick Deluxe kit and the Europe Quick kit.
SEA STORM
The Sea Storm is an amphibious aircraft with captivating lines and optimum performance. The general characteristics of the plane are that both wings and tail planes are manufactures in glass fibre and carbon fibre, while the fuselage is constructed in Kevlar-reinforced carbon fibre. All metallic components are treated against seawater corrosion.
The aircraft is easily controlled on the water surface, thanks to both the design of the hull and the profile of the side sponsons. These allow taxiing (and having fun!) in complete safety up to the take off speed. In flight, the aircraft displays excellent manoeuverability in line with its generous dimensions and extremely progressive and safe stalling characteristics.
The Sea Storm is already available worldwide with several kits being built in Australia, New Zealand, Canada and the USA and represents a distinct step forward towards new frontiers in private flying.
The Sea Storm is fitted with a new and functional retractable undercarriage. The main wheels are housed in the stabilising sponsons, while the rear wheel retracts in to the rear of the fuselage.
The wing is constructed entirely in composite material and contains capacious fuel tanks giving an impressive range. A refined interior, a large well equipped instrument panel and the gull wing doors make the Sea Storm a high class aircraft, with practically no rival in the world market.
There have been two models of the Sea Storm in production since 1999, the two-seat Sea Storm Z2 and the four-seat Sea Storm Z4.
Once again the Sea Storm is available assembled as well as in following kit forms, Quick Deluxe kit and the Europe Quick kit.
RALLY
The development of the Rally was to offer the public a technologically advanced, low cost, easy to fly high wing aircraft. The fuselage is constructed with composite materials and its designed for optimal aerodynamic flow. The flight controls of the Rally are classic with flaps and tail planes controlled by a series of rods fitted with bearings and 'Uniball' joints and via a cable for the rudder. The fixed tricycle undercarriage is of an already well-approved design. The wing is rectangular, slightly tapered in the area of the flaps and ailerons and braced, it can be made of either composites or aluminium.
The interior of the Rally is impressive, both for the number of accessories and the equipment fit. The side-by-side seats are adjustable and the instrument panel is aesthetically pleasing and is manufactured in a composite material. The instrument array has been designed to facilitate flight or engine parameter checks. The 'gull-wing' doors allow for easy access both in and out.
There are two models available for the international market, the Rally 105 UL with the aluminium wing and the Rally 105 S with a composite wing.
The Rally is available assembled as well as in the two kit versions, Quick deluxe kit and Europe Quick kit. |
